Youth Empowerment through Civil Rights Competition

Hands of Hope Trust hosted a Youth Civil Rights Competition, a way to energize youth in Zvishavane to engage and participate in politics and political processes. 30 participants were sensitized on their civil rights.

We hosted a lunch meeting to celebrate Africa Day, where women were encouraged to be assertive, so they can be self-advocates. Women were also urged to be industrious so as to be socially and economically

Civic Participation

Women have since been able to attend consultative meetings and full council meetings thereby participating in decision making processes.

Although the number of women attending these meetings has been low, partly due to Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown restrictions, we look forward to more women participating as soon as they are able to.

Through continued education and capacity building and strengthening, we look forward to an increase in the number of women to vie for leadership posts especially in the 2023 elections

Disability Rights

Women with disabilities have been able to keep safe during the COVID 19 pandemic due to continued education on safety measures. We continue advocating for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life.
